Cardiff Wales Stadium

The Cardiff Wales Stadium is no stranger to hosting ICC tournaments, having been a venue for the last two editions of the ICC Champions Trophy, as well as the ICC Cricket World Cup in 1999.

At the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2019, the Cardiff Wales Stadium – home of Glamorgan County Cricket Club – will host four fixtures, adding to the sole World Cup game played there in 1999.

The first county game held at the ground was in 1967, and their first international fixture was in fact the 1999 Cricket World Cup clash between trans-Tasman rivals Australia and New Zealand.

The Cardiff Wales Stadium has seen some dramatic moments played out in its relatively brief history of hosting international cricket, including Pakistan’s semi-final win over England at the ICC Champions Trophy in 2017.
